Took advantage of a sunny morning and 25-degree temps to sneak out to the club for a few shots with Beauty and the Beast. I ran mostly Speer 405-grain bullets from the CZ .458 Win Mag, and did notice that they seem to kick a bit harder -- or perhaps faster -- than the Hornady 500 over 70 grains of 3031. They also impact considerably higher on the target. The little Savage 30G with repro Stevens aperture rear and Lyman globe front was a nice way to taper off, shooting dime-sized 25-yard groups with Wolf Target .22 LR ammo until my fingers finally froze. I might do some shooting with my 458 if it ever stops snowing up here. "I can't be over gunned because the animal can't be over dead"-Elmer Keith

BTW, very nice rifles. I like the wood on the CZ. "I can't be over gunned because the animal can't be over dead"-Elmer Keith

Joe: More snow due here tonight, but nothing like you've got. I have a brother in Stevens Point. Thanks for the compliments on the wood. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author
