Here she is a little farther along. I almost finished up the 1/4 rib and banded front sight. I hope to mill out a recoil lug and add the cross bolts this weekend. You can see my muzzle break in the foreground. I need to finish boring it then thread it. I added a 990 recoil pad I hope to cover it with leather. I still want to do a bit more to the bottom metal.
With a little luck I will be shooting my 600 overkill in Sept.

Your wife lets you work in the kitchen, that is cool! :-)

Nice looking stick. Sounds like you are doing the work yourself on this. What is the weight going to be when finished? what action did you use?

Its looking very nice..Nice lines and nice wood and wood work...

Hope you lower the whole quarter rib a good deal, so it will take a scope for one reason, but also because its too high IMO...I would also replace the forend tip with a 90 degree tip to stay within the the accepted English/safari design.

Just some constructive conversation and by no means applicable if you disagree, just pointing them out as I see them and that doesn't mean squat on another mans gun.....

no working in the kitchen wifes at work. I am shooting for 13 to 14 lbs. She is an Enfield action.
Ray I agree I need to take quite a bit more off the 1/4 rib. Was running out of time for the day. It might have to be a bit higher than normal as the brake is quite large in diameter. I am using express sights with an ivory bead hope to hve it just over the top of the brake. Dont know if they make a scope to hold up to a 600 OK? I didnt know about the straight tip cut. If it wasnt for the fact it turned out real good Id cut it off and start over. Well maybe the next one.

Considering the caliber which I did not, forget the scope. Thats going to be a humdinger for sure..I suggest a rubber bumper behind the trigger for sure..would love to shoot it once...
