Allen just made me forget about a Dakota 76 action I was lusting after. Winchester will do.

I would like to spank Dakota for dropping the .416 Dakota in favor of the .404 Dakota.

Now I desire to build a 7.6# (bare/empty).416 Dakota based on a Win. M-70 Classic action, just to beat Will's 7.7# .416 Remington M-70.

The only .375 H&H rifles I own now are two Winchester M-70's. One has a Pre-64 action and the other is the new Classic.

To Harry Manners and Finn Aagard: We thank you and your ilk for making the M-70 in .375 H&H as "classic" a safari rifle as any.

I would use a Mauser action machined by Prechtl or Ritterbusch because they are perfect quality.
