I load this bullet exclusively in a modified Lee Enfield sporter chambered for my own version of the .375 JDJ. This year it has taken 2 buffalo and a couple of good boars, as a loaner in the hands of my son-in-law. The boars were each well over 100 kgs live weight, both one-shot kills. One of the buffalo needed a finisher after dropping to the first shot. The other (a bigger bull) took two to put it down. Not bad though, considering MV is only 2160 fps. I did load some 285gr Grand Slams for this rifle early on, but the flat meplat gets caught on the chamber rim recess occasionally when feeding from the magazine. No problem with the Hornady spire-points though.

I have not had such good luck with them...They are too soft for me...I have turned a couple of them inside out...I then loaded them to about 2400 FPS and got outstanding results with them...But they are not Buffalo bullets by any stretch of the imagination..Neither are the Hornady 300 gr. bullets...The old Hornady solid was a first rate Buffalo bullet, but with the new FN solids on the market all RN solids are obsolete IMO, but only if they will feed 100% in your gun...
