I still think with the $1,200 you say you're getting back from IRS you could get yourself a pretty good off the shelf large caliber rifle. A good .375 or .458. Either of them would be damn good starting points. You just might discover they are ALL you want. And both are certainly capable of taking care of you on this hemisphere.

The water is just as wet for a guy skinny dipping as it is for the dude with the designer trunks. Get you a gun and start having fun with it.

rebarrel (send it all) to pacnor, for 370 they'll install a barrel, for 85 more they'll blue it... make sure they mount a recoil lug.. $50?? .. total 505

You are at 1300 or so... you'll then need relaoding dies and brass... 160 from ch4d, and then get some weatherby brass, ~1.85 on midway
