<Crash>Blazer Drillings
I was in the new Cabelas in KC yesterday and ran accross a new drilling called a Blazer (pronounced Blau'zer by the sales rep). Base price $5K, 20 ga/9.3 x 9.3 x 74R. The things is basically 3 - 20 ga barrels with rifle inserts. The rifle inserts are regulated by a 3 screw set-up at the muzzle. Wood was nice (Turkish), but the metal work was a little rough for a $5K rifle.
I did a search here, but could find nothing. But I know I saw a post on these before. Sounds like the the EAA system. What's the scoop guys?
Also saw the "new Rigby's". Very nice rifles, but not worth $23.5K! As it was explained to me, they are a $14K custom rifle built in Germany and shipped to CA where Rigby beds them, reworks the trigger and adds the Rigby name and marks them up $9K+. That must be one hell of a trigger job! Who is making these in Germany, does anyone know?
Thanks, Crash

<Don Martin29>Drillings are really neat if they have the correct balance and weight for you. So many of them are heavy and too long.
I have not heard of the "Blazer" til now but I welcome more drillings.
I am really just a rifle (and pistol) man. But when you carry a drilling you are ready for just about anything. The bear season opened in VT Sept. 1st and I have a house (the camp) there. So I have already been "bear" hunting. The small game opens soon and it's cool to scout for deer, take a grouse or more and pretend that I might get a bear.

<quickdraw>Crash,
Thanks for letting us know. I did not know that Blaser drillings were being imported to the US. Their R93 and K95 rifles have some followings. Here's the link to the German website (in English) that describes these guns
Blaser Home Page SigArms imports all of their stuff.

<JOHAN>Gentlemen,
The blaser drillings aren't really worth thier price. reciver made of aluminium and there is to much plastic on them. Merkel haes better drillings for the money than Blaser.
A friend of mine had one for a while but traded back his god old trusted Sauer& Sohn drilling.
Cheers

Die Ou JagterDrillings are a great peice in the arsenal. I have 2 both are 9.3X72R with 16 ga double. For me the handling is great, I am taking it with me to Africa next month. I want to take a Warthog or Impala with it. The round is an old slow black powder round. It will also be nice to shoot some dove, sand grouse and piegons with.

<eldeguello>Ach so!! A double-rifle drilling!! A little more unusual than a double shotgun drilling!!
