Ed, cases are 4",and the gun is too light! (16.5lb) Actually its probably at my limit for something I'd want to carry. I'm not sure who made the cases. Groove diameter is just over 1", in the range of 1.005" It's a bit difficult to get a good measurement with calipers due to the odd # of lands and grooves. I size to bullets to 1.007 and they work fine with no leading problems. Out of a 27" barrel 8dms of 1F gave 825fps and 10 gave 950 with a 2133gn conical this afternoon. The chrony died before I could test any others, but these aren't too bad recoil wise. The 2F loads are noticably stiffer, and 10 dms of 2F definitely feels worse than 12dms of Fg. I'm using 1" felt wads, 2 w/8 dms, 1 with 14, and various combinations in between, over a tablet backing over powder wad. Lubed with wonder lube they weigh 85gns each, 100 with bore butter. I haven't done any accuracy testing yet, still trying to settle on the best and cleanest combination of lube/wads/powder. I've fired about 30rds so far and seem to hit where I'm aiming if I do my part. I cast about 20 bullets yesterday but I don't have a scale that reads high enough to check for uniformity either. Any suggestions? Thanks Bob DRSS "If we're not supposed to eat animals, why are they made out of meat?" "PS. To add a bit of Pappasonian philosophy: this single barrel stuff is just a passing fad. Bob-Sounds like good kicking fun. Does gun have decent pad?? For heavy weighing I use an old lab gram scale that goes to 1200 grams, and then multiply grams times 15.43 grains per gram. Let me weigh up to almost 2 3/4 lb bullets.Ed. MZEE WA SIKU | |||
