i just got off the phone with a-square and got a list of prices and such.

if you had your choice wich one would you chose to use

i am leaning to the 500 a-square how ever they are having a few problems exporting the 500 do to the fact some jack ass at the state dept sees the 500 the same as a 50bmg(desructive deveice) so there are a few delays that way.

how ever i can use the 495 a-square wich is there way of by passing that particular law. and is really the 500 balistic twin (ok its a little shy of it but not by much.)

the other option was the 577 tyrannasaur wich they said the would build me left handed if i chose to order one but because it would be custom it would take a bit longer.

what do you guys think?

1. Unless A2 starts making 577 ty brass, a 577 ty would be useless since there is no brass available.

2. The 500 A2 is a good cartridge and I would choose it.

3. If the State Dept allows exports of the 495 but not the 500, then they should rename the 500 as the 499 since they both shoot a .510 bullet.

4. What action will they use?

Steve,
the 495 will fit in a montana rifleman long action, and you can get it left handed AND stainless, if you like

the 500 a2, in YOUR country, may very well be a DD issue, in the US, A2 should be able to send the letter, showing it's obviously a sporting rifle

Is A2 actually manufacturing 577 T-rex brass, or having Hornbear make it for them?

How do they make a 1914 or 1917 into a leftie?

Does Granite Mountain make a leftie?

They don't. A-square's LH actions have been built on Rem 700 actions in the past. As for DD designation, I wonder if this is just more gov't interference in A-square's business. I know here in Canada that there is no DD, bore size doesn't enter into it. Anything that is prohibited or restricted is named (ie; Barrett 82's). FWIW - Dan

I called A2 and the lady said that A2 is making it themselves, but I have no first hand knowledge of that fact.
