Rob, I have not fired any 750's off yet but my friend has in his....and he has not had problems like you describe but I must admit neither of us where looking for them. I think also that our rifles weigh 15 pounds and that would have something to do with not experienceing some of the problems you describe....my friend has touched off a few rounds of 150 gr of AR2209 behind the 750 gr woodleigh.....and this is the charge we use behind the 650 woodleigh so we backed it off to 140 odd grains. RL-15 is to bothersome to get in Oz.

When I had my 585 barrel made and the .600 OK's as well we made darn sure there was enough meat in the chamber area as well as at the muzzel. When reboring you need to make darn sure that there are no sight or quarter rib screws that run down to near the chamber or bore. Thats why Ruger number ones can't be rebored. In the end, a rebore costs as much or more than a new barrel and it's false economy. Given the number of CZ barrels I have laying around here, I woudn't bother with any of them. PC- Have you shot your NYATI with full tilt loads? 135 grs of RL-15 with 750 grs? If so put two down in the mag and fire off the first round. Pull the second and look at the shoulder. If it's ok fire it and then look at number three. In my gun number two will sometimes chamber but it sticks and number three won't let me close the bolt. This does not happen with light loads and the gun will function perfectly. However, this is supposed to be a stopper not a plinker. As far as Ross goes, I wrote to him about the Nyati and never received a reply. The math speaks for itself. I think 500 grs has one built on a M70 with a nifty single stack mag. He's hunted ele with it and I wonder if he has seen the problems described. In any event this does not happen with the .600OK as there is no shoulder.-Rob

I followed Rob's instructions when building my .585 Nyati and it feeds and functions flawlessly with Bertram Brass.......also having no problems with the softness due to the huge case and I presume low pressures of the .585 round. Not so when using Bertram .416 Rigby brass no success there at all.
