Alf, Thanks for responding, but next time could you please provide some facts in your post That is some interesting info on the history of the 404. Can't wait until mine is ready to shoot. With respect to the Parker Hale (Norma?) ammo that I ordered, do you think that the specs will be the same as the Lothar Walther barrel that I have. I ordered it chambered from Lothar Walther in the .423" diameter. Thanks again!! Tim

Shumba Almost sure this is Norma made ammo.. It should have "MADE IN SWEDEN" printed somewhere on the box. I would follow Husky's recommendation. Cheers /JOHAN

Hi, The last time Norma made .404 ammunition with FMJ for Parker Hale was the 20th of March 1964. -At least according to Norma. I have a large stock of this batch with Normas own 400 grain steel reinforced FMJ. Norma did not recommend me to use this ammunition for hunting and especially not for DG hunting. They are 40 years old now. According to Mr Ken Stewart, RSA (East African Proffesional Hunter Association, permanent member no 92) so was the bullet regarded as "better" than the Kynoch but not as good as Woodleigh.s FMJ. Ken has been hunting alot -so i think that his judgement is better than most peoples.. I will make some tests with the Norma FMJ bullets, and see what's its worth... Husky
