I run a farmstore that rents space to a gun store (real handy). Well about 0930 went next door to bum a cup of coffee.

When I walked in, Ed said , hey we got used 375 H&H in. I forgot about the coffee as Ed passed me a G prefix Winchester cfr in 375 H&H. The rifle is in great shape with very little safe rash. Gun is very tight. Drilled and tapped but has never had any glass on it for $850.00. How could I pass on this. jumping

Well other that being happier than a puppy with two peters I need some help. banana

Witch scope mount and QD rings to hold a 1x4 scope to start with.I need help with all three.

This last one is just me. I would like a 3 leaf express sights and have no idea where to start looking.

On Satutday morning several regulars show up to look at the current stock of guns. After the deal was done one of them said that he would see me later. About 1400 he came buy and gave me a full box of Fed Premium 375 H&H with 300gr Nosler Partitions. He said Merry Christmas kid.

Is this not a geat country or what? patriot

Dick ... sounds like you made a fantastic buy! We should all be that lucky.

As far as rings and mounts; if you're looking for QD rings, either Talley or Warren make great QD rings and bases.

Scopes are a matter of how much you are willing to spend ... but you get what you pay for. You can't go wrong with Leupold or Burris.

The 3 leaf express sight is a little more difficult due to the expertise needed of the gunsmith installing it. Having said that, check out Z-hat ... you won't be disapointed.

For the leaf sight arrangement, try New England Custom Guns. They have a good selection and can take care of about anything you might need.

Sarco has the 3 leaf type used on the beautiful Mk10s for less than 50.00 as I recall. Should work pretty good on a Win. Congrats on a neat rifle at a good price!

Make sure you check the bases (really the top of the receiver) before mounting your scopes. My 375 is not true and is getting custom bases in MArch. Same goes for my 06. Can;t reaqlly expect Talley's to come back to zero when the bases (again, receiver, not Talley's bases) do not allow for a true squared lockup. Otherwise, sounds like a good deal and I bet a rifle you;ll not be selling any time too soon!

BTW, I went with the Leupold 1.75 X 6.

Before you go the 3 leaf route you should take a look at the reproduction original Mdl 70 375 rear sights that Wisner makes. They are a little more expensive but really neat and fully adjustable.------------ Just looked and they still carry it. It is part 458RS and retails for 103.69. It's really a neat sight and I always wanted to put one on one of my 375's in fact i may still do it.

Talleys - they won't fail or move. Weaver's if you want the economy route.
