MJ, where did you find the QR Optilocks for $245? The one place that I checked with priced them in the ridiculous range. The regular Optilock's will come on and off and keep zero pretty well. I keep both size mount wrenches in a Blackhawk cheekrest w/pouch. The cheekrest also gets my eye centered in the scope. I've read about some PH's keeping an allen wrench in the bottom of their magazine box. All Optilocks are expensive but good. One of these days I may have to try a set of the quick release sets..........DJ

I have a set of the new detachable Optilocks. I mounted them on a pre-72 Sako Finnbear in 338 WM. They are beautiful and I really like the locking detent that fits the receiver base for absolute lock in the same position every time and totally prevents movement on the dovetails. The Leupolds don't have that feature. The plastic inserts are as described above, which is identicle to the Burris signature rings (who is also owned by Beretta too). But, shipped they were $ 245 which is pretty damned steep. I wanted the quick detach so if I wound an animal and have to go in the thick stuff after it, I can pull the scope and slide on a peep sight.
