I have read the posts about the Kodiak double rifle and am trying to locate some dealer that actually has these in either 45-70 or 9.3, but so far I am not having a great deal of luck. If anyone here happens to know of a dealer that I could contact I would appreciate the info. Thanks in advance for any help.

Pedersoli double rifle Try that link there is a tab at the top of the page for distributers. Now the Kodiak refers to the black powder muzzle loader and the Pedersoli is a reproduction of the colt double rifle. That one is available in 45/70 and 9.3X74R I have shot one of the 45/70s and it's a very mild round great fun. Rusty We Band of Brothers! DRSS, NRA & SCI Life Member "I am rejoiced at my fate. I think the Kodiak Express is the muzzle-loading double and the Kodiak Mark IV is the cartridge double. The Mark IV is available in 8x57 JRS, 9.3x74R and .45-70. Both are made like the original Colt double if I am not mistaken. Mine is in 9.3x74R and is a lot of fun. If you can locate a good, used gun you can frequently save quite a bit over the cost of a new one as the dollar has fallen against the Euro and prices have gone up. Good luck.

You might try Flintlocks,Etc, or Cabela's to. I got my Mark IV .45/70 from Cabela's recently. Both had a .45/70 & 9.3 left in stock at the time. Flintlocks also had a .45/70/20 ga. and an engraved piece. Dixie was out a month ago but has more in now as I understand it, and someone was telling me they were asking over $3000 due to the drop of the dollar against the Euro. If it goes BANG, I like it!

Thanks for the help, I haven't located one of these yet, did find a Siace(sp?) at Steve Barnetts that looks like the same thing, 45/70 hammer gun with what looks to be good wood and in a nice case, price was pretty close to $5000 as I recall, a bit more than I want to pay for that type. A 9.3 is what I really would like. I'll keep looking, and once again thanks.

When I was looking, Cherry's Fine Guns was willing to order one. I think they wanted the money up front and the wait was about six weeks. That was last year so I don't know what it would be now. I have been told in the past that some of the Cabelas have them in stock, so if you have not already called around that might work. Good luck -- they are fun.
