This is because I was shooting too often and my arm was sore.Shooting in the cold does't help either. Both my arms have been tired and sore from practicing for my next big bore video(should be ready by spring).I went out and bought some ice skates and a hockey stick yesterday and decided to take a break this way.Since I have not been on the ice for over thirty years and then not more than 20 or so times,my feet are now sore.I don't think I'll be ready for next months ice skating festival on the Assomption river.A 9km skate on the frozen river in Joliette, quebec. The video on the top shows me shooting the Ruger Lott.As you can see, loading the already rough magazine box/follower is impossible to deal with in the cold. The bottom video shows the CZ 458wm and the issues mine has feeding spitzers. It feeds them half of the time at normal temperatures but never this bad as is seen here in lower temeratures. It feeds the RN bullets like slick lightning.

you mean the guy going crunch crunch crunch in the snow, and shooting 458 winmag loads at 20 deg? so they are coming out at about 1600 fps, and no skidoo helmet?

THAT one?

yeah, that was pretty lame, and to bring it up LIKE IT WAS NEW is even lamer ...

One shot? After being unable to lower the bolt handles for four or five attempts?

You'd better practice working the bolt and dry-firing that gun until you get the hang of it.

I suspect that your PH earned every bit of his daily rate and gratuity.

George,
I could not resist counting after reading your comment below.
I counted seven tries at closing the bolt, with much fiddling with fingers in magazine between attempts to close the bolt.
Seventh time was a charm!
All this on camera and presented for our viewing pleasure?

Nothing personal..but have you ever shot a rifle before? Seriously, 7 tries to close the bolt??

If that rifle hurts you so much, maybe you should stick to shooting smaller calibers.

For future reference, the "pointy" end of the cartridge goes in first...easier to close the bolt that way. Big Grin

I had posted the same CZ458wm video twice and know have the Ruger video up also. This is the rifle I took to Zimbabwe last summer. In the second video, you can see that it is very difficult to get the rounds in the Ruger magazine. The issue is with the follower sticking to the walls of the magazine box.It is not a major issue in warm temperatures but is in cold.I need to get this fixed by my gunsmith.I never had this issue with any other rifle.
