I talked with Dieter and he is drawing brass as we speak. I had quite a bit of discussion with him about the case dimensions and we are using the .635 case head dimensions as well as the rest of the dimensions taken from my JGS 585 NYATI reamer print. Dieter is all squared away right now so I don't anticipate any problems. I'll keep you all posted.-Rob

Thanks again Rob. Is he shipping it out regular parcel post or air mail? Just curious. Have a good weekend, BMG

Thanks Rob, So I suppose this means the Brass will not arrive like Bertram Brass which is 3.25" and unfromed?? Are we using the Gibbs .640" Rim or is the Gibbs Rim .635". [ 06-15-2002, 03:55: Message edited by: PC ]

PC, Some of my Betram cases have unduly large rims. It seems the rim diameter varies a bit too much on the Betram stuff. As I undestand it we are getting the .635 rim to fit on a .640 bolt face. Be sure to have your smith open up the bolt face to 0.640 only. If you want to open it a little more later you can.

Thanks 500 I'll get on to that and let the smith know.

500 I just measured the rim on that Bertram case you sent me and it came out at .636". Have you struck any with rims larger than .640" I might go through a few more Bertram cases that I have here and see what they measure at. I now have 120 odd Bertram .585 cases.

The drawing I sent Dieter specified a .635 Rim to allow for .640 Boltfaces. If you look at his 505 Gibbs cases I think you will be very happy.-Rob

Rob, Did you fit 3 down in your 585 yet, and if so, what did you have to do to the follower to make it work? Thanks.
