I have taken my first game animal with my 375/338 Mag. It was a 150 ib. male black bear killed north of Maniwaki, Quebec Canada at 6:55pm on May 27. The rifle is an Interarms Mark X action, McGowen barrel, Bell&Carlson Carbelite synthetic stock, and Burris Fullfield 4x scope. I used winchester fireformed cases, Fed. 215 primers, 270 gr. Hornady spire Points and 69 gr. of IMR 4064 powder. I was really impressed by the effect this combination had on the bear. It literally knocked him off the embankment he was standing on. I would just like to thank Bear Claw for putting together a fine rifle and Phil R for providing his reloading data on BW's 416 Taylor web page. I also want to thank everyone who helped in getting this project going with their replys to all my posts from last year. Hopefully now I'll draw that Maine moose tag and go 2 for 2 on game with this gun.

Craig, Your .375 on the .338 WM case sounds like it performs like my .376 Steyr, a .375 on the shortened 9.3X64 case. I have taken two animals so far, an eland and a warthog also using the 270 grain Hornady Spire Point bullet. Good hunting for the moose... jim dodd

Great report, I always said there is room for another .375. Especially a short, handy, and lethal one like you have Craig. Great hunt.............J
