Just wanted to post a review on my tanzanian hunt with a AHR 375 RUM loaded with 300 grain north fork softs. i shot a lion, 3 buffalo, eland, kudu, sable, roan, reedbuck, warthog and duiker. The longest shot was 277 yards at the eland. the buffalo were all 50 to 60 and sble k, kudu and roan were 100 to 150. I can only say I was impressed with the gun and bullets. I recovered 5 bullets all perfect mushroom and all splitting skin on far side sometimes angled. In 31 prior safaries I have had animals death run 100 to 200 yards but with no spine or neck shots all low shoulder I had one animal the roan run 80 yards. the 3 buffalo did not go 10 yards and every other animal was DRT. I was shocked at sable as I have had them run a ways before. I was shooting at 2850 fps and just wanted to give a field experience with this combo.I can say Wayne at AHR made a fine rifle and North fork bullets were fantastic. I had used barnes XXX before and they were really good also but I was really impressed with performance of the NF.
thanks
when I get caught up I will post pictures and hunt report.

There is no better soft than a North Fork.
As long as we are allowed to use bonded-lead nose with solid copper shank, forget California,
then there will be no better bullet.
And the faster it goes, the better it gets.
Hence such success as yours.
Congratulations.
Thanks for sharing. clap

Hey Gerry... I had Wayne build me a .375 RUM last year, only difference between our rifles is I had the fleur de lis checkering and I see you have the point pattern.

I was glad to see your report and how the caliber fared for you. Did you roll your own handloads or have Larry at Superior put them together for you? I have some TSX's on order right now for mine but have been shooting the 300 grain Accubonds with excellent accuracy. I take it you were impressed enough with the Northforks to stick with 'em in spite of the price difference? And how was your accuracy?

Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

I'm heading to the range this morning. I loaded some 270gr Hornady SP behind H4831SC. Start charge is 90.0gr and tops at 95.0gr. Cases are Remington loaded 5 times now. Primers are CCI LRM. These are cheap plinking loads. I will keep you posted and see how they group. I should be able to load my new 250gr TTSX sometimes next week. Been waiting for them for 6 months now...
