It should be out within a year or that is what some officials told me at SCI... I would have to have a lot more info to tell you what it will weigh, but you can figure it out by weighing the parts.. My 416 Ruger on a Mauser with a no. 4 barrel and wood stock weighs 8.25 lbs. sans scope and recoil is right up there...A scope and mounts will add another 1.5 lbs, so that will bring it up to 9-3/4 lbs and that will be about right for me... I load 78 to 80 grs. of RL-15 and can get just a tad under 2400 in my 20" tube, a number 4 Lothar Walthar barrel..It mics .745 at the 20" barrels crown so its pretty thick..I like a weight up front as it steadies the rifle for running shots and when one is out of breath. Ray, I have got an action that I was going to build a .416Taylor, would you hold out for the .416Ruger and why? Sure I would, its a more powerful caliber, it has no belt, it will soon be a factory item and as it is now its a snap to load for. Just run the 375 Ruger case into the .416 Ruger die, use the .416 Rem. loading data, I got my dies from Hornaday btw. 375 Brass is readily available. I don't see any reason for the 416 Taylor, as any action that will take the Taylor will take the .416 Remington or .416 Ruger equally as well.. I played with the 375 Taylor and the .416 Taylor for a year or two, and decided they had little to offer other than fun and games.. Take Will for instance, and bless his old heart, although misguided at times, he will soon tire of the Taylor, get bored with his new toy, and go on to bigger and better "thangs!" Thanks, for the input. I have a Ruger tang action, waiting for a build. It was going to be a .416Taylor, but with the information and input from you and others, it looks as if the Ruger is going to win out.
