scope for my 375 Whitworth. Planned use is brown bear in Alaska and a couple of trips to Africa with buffalo and cow elephnat, maybe, being on the menu. Though I'll most likely use iron sights on the elephant hunt. I think I'd like something in the 1.5-6x42 range and I confess to being a Leupold slut, between my dad, LaRita and me, we have 5 other rifles and we have 5 Leupolds. The only problem is Leupold don't make a 1.5-6x42. So I'm looking at the following. Nikon 1.5-6x42 Monarch Gold 30mm Burris 1.5-6x40 Euro Diamond 30mm Leupold 1.75-6x32 VX-III 1" Leupold 2.5-8x36 VX-III 1" What would you recommend? ______________________

Mark, I have used a Leupold Vari-X III 2.5x-8x on my .375s for 15 years, and never had a problem with them, nor have I felt I needed 'more scope'. It has the right blend of eye relief and magnification, plus it's rugged as all hell. Its compact size and shape allow you to mount it close to the receiver, too. George

I have a Nikon 30mm gold on one of my 375's, I have no complaints, very good scope, I will probably buy another at some point in time. Just depends on what you like. Billy, High in the shoulder (we band of bubbas)
