Why did you need to close the thread by maddenwh where people were sending their best wishes? I understand that the classified forum is where the ad should be but why do all the best wishes have to go to pm now?

I just see nothing wrong with leaving the post there so well-wishers could send their thoughts. Any harm in that?

The topic is still there, it is just locked. Ads do not belong in the forums themselves, but people can post that they have an ad for topical items in the Classifieds.

As for expressions of support, they should be made privately; it would probably mean more to maddenwh to have people contact him directly.
