I put this over on the "Reloading" forum also but thought I might get some different responses here. I don't know if this particular powder and cartridge combo has been talked about before. According to a close friend, to closely approximate a cordite load, you need to multiply the original cordite load by 1.19 to achieve the equivalent load for RL-15. According to my friend, the cordite load with a 400 gr. bullet in the Rigby was 71 grs. Using that figure and the multiplier, you would use 84.5 grs. of RL-15. Has anyone any experience with this powder/ bullet combo? "I ask, sir, what is the Militia? It is the whole people. I really like RL15, I use it in many rifles from my .500's to my 9.3x62's. I would worry, however, that the Rigby case is too big for RL15 and it would require a slower burning powder. That said, I do not have any experience with RL15 in a Rigby. Mike

+1 Jason "You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core." _______________________ Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt. Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure. -Jason Brown

I use 82gr of RL15 with 400gr Swifts in my 416Rem Mag and it works great. I made a quick check in three manuals and none listed RL15 in the Rigby, they all started with RL22.

Ed - I've seen as fast as RL-17 but no RL-15. I know that with RL-15, you'd have to use some fiber-fill to take up the space. "I ask, sir, what is the Militia? It is the whole people. I agree with everyone else in that the Rigby case is just too big for RL-15. I guess you could go to all of the trouble of using fillers, but why? There are better powders that fill the case. I would also prefer one of the extreme powders like H-4831 or H-4350
