Hey ropes are only supposed to be used around the neck. The hold down fool is supposed to grab one hind leg and pull it up to his chest and take a boot and push the other leg forward to hold the calf down. Once the cutting is done you think about what could possibly happen between the split second you let go and the time it takes you to scramble out of the way.

I've been around cattle my entire life and have always felt that there is a much better cut of meat on a beef. Yeah I've tried'em (rocky mountain oysters)and I love real oysters but I'll stick with a Ribeye or a "tri tip" like Fjold enjoyed!.

If you use a head catch it take two guys to hold it down so we just rope both heels. Then it just takes one pull on the tail to lay them over. A guy to hold the front leg and neck down so that the girls can come in with the vaccination , ear notching and ear tag while the other guy works the back half of bull calves.
