Terry, There was a reference in the November American Rifleman to the .458 Lott CZ 550 American being available in November, 2003. jim dodd

That picture looks like the drop and pitch of the stock are the same as the Lux humpie with the hump planed flat, ala JudgeG, Wendell Reich, etc. We shall see. I welcome any new stock variations on the excellent CZ 550 Magnum Safari. Hopefully they will not be putting any more C-clips on the firing pins. We have sure spoken to them about that.

Terry, Those are beautiful! Who did the stock work and did you pick the blanks? I like the color. I take they have a 'clear' stain? I have a custom mauser that was built for my grandfather. The stock is getting a bit dinged up and I keep thinking about having it refinished. It's got a nice piece of wood on it and I'd bet it would look better if the stain was lighter. -Steve

Steve, Both of those rifles are by Roger Biesen. I told him what I wanted in a stock and he emailed pictures of several blanks. I'm not exactly certain how the finish was done. It is a "flat" finish. No shine or gloss. Regards, Terry
