Are different types of stocks better for different people? I have read that Weatherby stocks are the worst for recoil control because of their monte carlo design. However, I have also heard that there is nothing better than weatherby when it comes to stock design. Also on the CZ 550 Safari there is a sort of humpbacked stock and I have heard that the less drop at the heel and comb the better. But, the Winchester Safari has a straight stock and I just read that someone can't stand the recoil from his M-70 .375. Whats the deal?

seamus, i doubt there is anyone who knows the answer to this question, we are all different on this one. all i know for sure the cz .458 wm, with the hogback style stock does not hurt my shoulder or back. with 3 fused vertebrae, that is saying something. if it were a 500a2, that may be a different matter. but for north america i'm more than happy, and i have it covered. halfbreed [Cool]

When everyone is built the same then we can all have the same opinion on which stock is best...the two I like best are the McMillan Mountain Rifle for a ltwt rifle and the RimRock for bigger kickers.
