Barnes 450gr in .460 Wby
So just wondering what a good powder would be to try with this bullet. I was thinking H4350.

Ian, what do you plan to hunt with the 460?

I don't see myself going to Africa anytime soon, so most likely bear, elk, moose and the odd deer lol

Ian, I think it's safe to say that you'll have enough gun :-)

I'm using 100gr of IMR-4320. 3 shots at 100 yards, all three are touching, nice clover leaf. I didn't chronograph the load, I'm assuming its around 2500 fps.

450gr TSX Barnes 101gr IMR4320

Very accurate in my rifle.

I shot a buffalo with this load in february 2016.

My regular plinking load is 115 gr of IMR 4350 under a 500 gr. Hornady solid. 24" barrel gives me 2410 fps, +-10 fps. Factory 500 gr. ammo runs a little over 2500 fps.

Because the Barnes units are longer I had trouble seating them to the COL listed in an older Barnes manual. I called Barnes and they suggested using 4831.

All of my shooting with it is strictly for fun so I shy away from expensive, premium bullets.
