People winge about the ch4 dies but I have had good luck with them in both 50-110 and .585Nyati, and they where less than half the price of RCBS in 50-110 that is I am not aware of anyoine else whom makes .585 dies.

Tongo,

Nice rifle. When did you place your order? How was CZ to deal with?

John

There are those that do, those that dream, and those that only read about it and then post their "expertise" on AR!

RIP
.505 Gibbs dies from RCBS were about $395 USD. bawling

My 470 Mbogo dies were all fine and dandy except the body threads on the seater die were a little buggered. It still screws far enough into the press for use, but they are very tight and it jams at any point further toward hades. No runout problems, and everything else about the dies was fine.

You might get lucky with CH4D.

Well, I shot the rifle this morning using 525 grains soilds. The recoil very manageable and not much more than my .458 Lott. I very much like the .505 Gibbs. One problem I did encounter was the barrel band came loose after five rounds. I guess I will call CZ on Tuesday.

roflmao i tried to tell the boys with lotts the same thing about the 500 jeffe... and they BOUGHT it!!! roflmao

seriously, it's about the equalivate of a lott shooting a 80gr heavier bullet, due to ejecta.

i was't trying to trick em, seriously... i thought it was about the same...

AWESOME! Were these the new factory loads or reloads? What data were you using if you reloaded? Were you shooting standing? AT what range and how did it shoot?

WHen you say the barrel came loose, did it actually unscrew from the action? THe CZ Barrels I have taken off actions were attahced to the extreme. I am interested to hear exactly what happened/

I was using CZ factory loads and I was standing. I shoot between 50 to 100 yards.

The Barrel did not come loose. It was the barrel band where you attach the front portion of the sling.

Yeah, and you say your 550 Exp is a pure joy to shoot.

500 Jeff, is a step above the fullhouse Lott, at the least.
