Always nice to make someone's day: I gave my dad a nice new CZ 550 Safari Classics in 375 H&H for a gift. Man, to see the smile come across his face when I told him it was his! Some modifications to be made but talk about a kid at Christmas. He ran upstairs to show it to my mom who was like, "uh-huh." She didn't quite appreciate the fact that such a formidable rifle could shoot hither and yon as well as tackle the most pugnacious species. hell, he didn't care...

do something nice for your dad, today. he might not be here tomorrow.

That's great to hear, good on you. My father is past his hunting/shooting days unfortunately.

I lost my dad 21 years ago when I was 26 and he was 51. He would have loved a present like that. You guys are lucky to still have your dads. Most of them love just spending time with there sons and daughters as they get older.

I would have loved to do something like that for my dad who died 14 years ago, but unfortunately he wasn't a hunter. We did fish together often and I only wish I could take him on another charter trip.

No way - I gave it to my dad as a present to him. He used it on his Cape Buffalo on September 3rd of this year and it will reside on the wall among his African trophies. The floorplate, as you may recall, is inscribed "Custom Built for my Dad" with his name on it.
The only place I hope it goes, someday, is from his hands to one of his grandchildren's
