Hello Gentleman, The 2016 World Championship Big Game Rifle match will be held in the UK. The match is held every other year and hosted by different countries. Australia hosted in 2014, UK will host in 2016 and I have offered to host the 2018 event in Montana. It would be nice if the US sends a team of 4 or 5 to the UK next year. This event would be big fun. Anyone interested? The match is usually in September but early to mid August would work better for me to travel since I am a teacher. If we can get a US team on board hopefully we can get them to schedule the shoot in August. The match is paired with another event of some kind often a shotgun/sporting clays shoot. The course of fire is based on the Australian Big Game Rifle rules although I hear the international shoot modifies the rules to accommodate travelers. There are 5 or more categories of firearms with bore diameter, bullet weight and energy minimums plus action types. Who wants to go? Shoot me a PM if interested. Now that would be fun! Show those across the pond how the yank rednecks handle big bores! Wish I could afford it I would surely have a great time.

The 400 Whelan would be ideal for category 3 and the 500 AR for category 3 . Phil Shoemaker : "I went to a .30-06 on a fine old Mauser action. That worked successfully for a few years until a wounded, vindictive brown bear taught me that precise bullet placement is not always possible in thick alders, at spitting distances and when time is measured in split seconds. Lucky to come out of that lesson alive, I decided to look for a more suitable rifle."

Thinking... " Until the day breaks and the nights shadows flee away " Big ivory for my pillow and 2.5% of Neanderthal DNA flowing thru my veins. When I'm ready to go, pack a bag of gunpowder up my ass and strike a fire to my pecker, until I squeal like a boar. Yours truly , Milan The Boarkiller - World according to Milan PS I have big boar on my floor...but it ain't dead, just scared to move... Man should be happy and in good humor until the day he dies... I would love to have a bunch of American big bore enthusiasts join us in Bisley in 2016. I shot in South Africa in 2012 (came 15th out of 103), and I shot in Australia last year (came 5th out of 66), Both those times I was one of the extras (ie. not on the Australian team), so from experience I can recommend it as a really fun shoot, and a great opportunity to broaden the fraternity around big game rifle shooting. Remember the stronger we are the less chance there is of being restricted in ownership and use of firearms. International shoots provide a valid reason to own and transport big bore rifles. I qualified to be on the Australian team next year at our recent national championships, so I will definitely be there in Bisley next year. Others are welcome to join too, but to have a country represented you need 3 shooters.
