Does anyone have any ideas for a scope ring mounting option for the "uncut" square bridge scope base for the MRC PH actions? Jeff will leave the scope ring base mounting options open to the customer and leave them uncut, but many like myself have no clue what way to go. Mine will be (eventually) a matte or rust blue CM action, heavy blued 22" bbl in 505 Gibbs with a decent Bastoge walnut stock(got a blank from an AR member). I can't make up my mind in what to do with the square bridge since I have no idea what the options might be. I am sure others are in the same boat. Any help would be appreciated. Woody

I think if I were building a Gibbs I'd stick with really nice iron sights! But that is me... What I did on mine was to inlett the bridge to accept tally bases. I wanted to machine the bridge for just the rings, but my gunsmith did not have the cutters he need. It seemed to him there were more risked involved trying to machine to accept just the rings. The base tucked in real nice and low, the base material is a stronger steel than the reciever. Scope hight is perfect for the cz 550 mag style stock. We used larger base screws than stock Talley, with a little epoxy applied the bases will never move. Cost of machineing was $55.00 I mounted a heavy Burris 30 mm Euro with pos lock 1.5X5. I have fired 60-505 Gibbs through it. (141 grs of rl25 and 535 gr bullet) with no problems, 5 max loads of 151 gr of rl 25 and 535 gr Barnes flat nose solid. I have the back up peep Talley offers that slips right on the base. Its a nice set up. JD DRSS 9.3X74 tika 512 9.3X74 SXS Merkel 140 in 470 Nitro
