I hope it was one of us who bought this rifle?

What a beauty! And an Apex barrel to boot!

I almost bought one in this caliber few years ago. It was a "Plain Jane", but serious hunting rifle by Hoffman Arms of Oklahoma. Examining it I had to admit metal finish, wood finish,.... was first rate or second to none.
I only heard of George and not sure who this Lucas is, but that is a nice looking rifle.

I don't know. It was already sold when I saw it. I guess I could call Cabelas?

I think it was $5400.

You should have bought this one for $10K.

I don't know about anyone else, but I like those short, skinny forends. Admittedly I probably don't hold on to the forend like I am "suppose to" but those big, chunky forends I never understood.

The English just knew how to design a beautiful rifle.

That was a good price at $10K compared to some other 2 barrel take downs I've seen from Jeffery. Somebody is having a love affair with a fine piece of iron as I type this!

If I ever get to just touch a Hoffman in .404 I will probably die of apoplexy!!

I would sell my wife, house and kids, shoot your mother in law and steal horses for a living to own one... I would not even trade it off or sell it, and thats serious love!!

There is a 404 Jeff at the Dundee Cabelas that used to be mine-made by Jerry Fisher on a Mauser action. I did not commission the rifle. My only beef with it was the Griffin and Howe mounts, which are not a personal favorite. It's a good one-I only sold it because of 3 kids in college and a lust for a double.... It'd be worth checking out if you are in the market for a 404.
