Oh, i forget to say that I am thinking on to maybe move up from my .460 Wby to the .500 A-square How fast would a max loaded .500 a-square push a 570 grain bullet? I saw here on the accuratereloading that it will do 2400 fps with a .700 grainer!!

How many cartridges does a .600 OK rifle take in the magazine? 2 and one up in the spot like my .460 wby? How many does a .500 a-square take?

OK, The 600 OK answers will have to come from someone else. The 460 Wby MK V magazine is limited to two because it is a vertical stack. It would be three if staggered. The 500 A2 is similar to the 460Wby in magazine capacity. A staggered CZ or BRNO box will hold 3 down plus 1 chamberd. The 24" barreled max velocity for the 500 A-Square with 570 grain bullets tops out around 2450 fps, and about 2400 fps for 600 grain bullets when they are seated to usual lengths and crimped. Add about 25 fps per inch of barrel added on. I would think that any load with velocity 2400 fps with any bullet heavier than 600 grains would be too hot to be recommended. Excessive pressure for routine use. I am not saying that a 700 grain bullet cannot be made to go 2400 fps from a 500 A-Square. It could be done but it might involve any or all of the following: 26" or longer barrel 3.75" or longer COL Use of drop tube and heavy powder compression Pressures over 60,000 psi possible "kaboom"
