Interarms action for 404J?

I tried this in gunsmithing but no responses.
I have an extra Whitworth action .375 and am wondering if anyone has used this platform for a 404J conversion.
Please let me know about
Length of the box
cartridge stacking
Feeding issues

I am hoping to use the same .375 profile for the stock and barrel inletting ease but don''t know if that will work with the 404J. Will this create problems?
Any other issues you may have encountered.

Length of the box - A bit longer than needed. Not really an issue, but more metal has been removed from the feed ramp than is necessary.
cartridge stacking - The 375 box is too narrow, especially in front.
Feeding issues - It will need some feeding work.

Thanks Guys.
I am not set on anything specific just looking at options.
I have a 404J reamer available but fear the barrel may be too light for a rebore to work.
Jeffe, I cut this barrel back to 20 inches some time ago and if are still interested, I will let you know when I decide.
I have been reading about the 404/375.
I have spoken with Dennis in the past about doing feed work.

Put some of Mr. Wiebe's bottom metal on it. $400.00

Get a new barrel. A good one. $300.00

Pay a talented gunsmith to fit the barrel and do the feeding. $700.00 - $1,100.00

The original 404 Rimless Nitro Express ballistics were measured with a 26" or 28" barrel. That was how decent velocity was acheived by a smaller (than, say, a Rigby) case pushing a largish bullet at low pressure.

It is not cheap. While you are at it, get a new handle welded on. (just my two cents).

Change out the safety and do the trigger at the same time. I have done all this to one of these actions with the exception of caliber choice and while it doesn't make economic sense it is what I want and I have guns built for me and not for my widow to sell when I am gone.

I have used that same action for my 404. I ordered one of the Sunny Hill mag boxes and used a 375 follower from Wisner. It took a couple hours of grinding,testing and filing but feeds great now (GO SLOW!!!). Also be sure to work on the extractor to get the right purchase on the brand of cases you want to use. I put a LW SS barrel on mine and can't wait to shoot it. Good luck to you.
