Ruger Sight Question
I have a NECG peep site for my RSM. My question is, if you have a scope on the rifle and remove it to use the peep sight, how well does the rifle zero when you put the scope back on? I have used quick detach Talley rings and the like in the past but have never used the Ruger rings to detach a scope and reinstall - I have always just mounted the scope and left it alone. Curious how well they return to zero. Thanks for your input.

Mike,
i use mine in the same fashion.. the zero returns well, that is, i can crush dangerous jugs in full charge with swapping them.

the necg (racnagel) sight replies on the "peep" to hold the vertical zero, so a little clear nailpolish holds that just fine.

you should get a bluing pen and file the sharp corners off that thing!!!

Thanks Jeffe, I am going to pop the scope off and try to switch back and forth and see how close the adjustments stay.

Tried it today. Went back and forth between the Ruger rings and the NECG peep sight. Both seemed to return damn close to zero each time, at most 1/4 inch off. I am pleased. Will leave the scope on and just carry the peep in case some tragedy befalls the scope.

MJines,

I have the exact setup and I find the same thing. They return spot on, also the scopes are darn close too. I like the Ruger Rings because no one makes QD's in the low ring's which is what I shoot.

Over the years I've tried several of the ruger mounts. They come off and go back on very close to zero in my experience.
