Scroll down to see the drawing.

I tried submitting that back in February '07 and apparently Mike didn't take me seriously.
I submitted it again yesterday and he finally accepted it and it is already up. The comments include my typo from February:

The metric diameter of the .395 is 10.03 mm, not 10.02 mm.

And Bent got a nonexistant .425 Capstick idea posted by accident ... Wink

Coming soon:

.398 Lapua Mag.
.395 Ruger Max
.395 GSC

Ammoguide posting looks good. Sure Mike gets many requests to post .007 Fleastopper Express, 7.0" Galactic Express, etc.

Thanks for noticing, Mac,

Please notice this, the amazing coincidence:

change the .416 Rigby shoulder angle to 20-degrees (same as .338 LM) and neck it down to .395 caliber

THUS

the neck is automatically set at .395" long for brass length of 2.900", the standard max for .416 Rigby length.

The .395 Tatanka was meant to be. thumb

Coincidences abound!

What's the estimated powder capacity of your .395?

Maybe I should design a semiauto varminter for your case mgun

I am estimating 130 grains of water gross, won't know for sure until I fireform and measure.

Mike's software calculated 122 grains of water from external measurements and generic brass assumptions, etc, and I don't know if that means net or gross.

Right now I am on call for 12 days straight and off 2 days between, can't go anywhere or do anything for 12 days at a time. Fireforming is about 9 or 10 days away.

The .395 Tatanka would make a great machinegun cartridge. Thanks. mgun

His software is pretty accurate I've found. On call? Bomb squad or OB GYN?

Very sexy cart, RIP!

I have to say, as fond as I am of the moniker 395 Tatanka, I am that much more partial to .40-07. Smiler

Viva la Fourty-ought-Seven!!!

Cheers,
Canuck

Ditto all the above. There is room for "40-07" on my barrel, and headstamped brass would be sweet in either designation.

404 Jeffery, 10.75x73mm Mauser ... tomato, "tomahto." Wink

It severely underestimates a lot of them, if gross water capacity of fireformed brass is the measure.

I am pleased that he allowed as high as 122 grains for the 40-07, given the trend there.
