Hello, Been hearing about cracked stocks, broken stocks, etc. on subject rifle and my 458 Lott with a very fine looking Circasian Walnut stock broke the entire butt stock off just behind the tang. Faulty workmanship, nope, faulty transportation is the reason. Rec'd New 458 Lott today, outside packing box, brown cardboard, did look like it had been stepped on, but when I pulled the white Factory Ruger box out, it was broken and torn in two distinct places about one third from one end. Before I even opened, said to my dealer friend that the rifle is broke in to two pieces and upon opening, sure enough!! Contacted selling/shipping dealer and notified and they contacted distributor while on the phone and have another one on the way fastest possible delivery. That is service in the highest order. Shame of it is that the stock is one of the nicest looking ones I have seen to date on any Ruger firearm, but life is not always fair and you have to move on and upward. We will see what happens in a few days and will give names and places later. I am keeping my fingers crossed for the next few days.

Sorry to hear that driver. Maybe you'll get another one with great looking wood. I can't wait to get mine next week! "Flinching due to Heavy Recoil is a state of mind"

Hello William Kelly Carpenter, That is great you are getting a Ruger Magnum also, I do like my 375 version and reason went on with the 458 Lott and hope it does not take a lot of time to straighten this one out . My financial exposure is none at this time for it is a trade deal and have not shipped my end yet, but when inquiring of the shipping firm (remaining nameless at this time) if it was insured she said yes, it is insured for the sum of 15.00!!! I asked her to repeat that and sure enough she said fifteen dollars and said to myself, well, I can see why they break things. Obviously wrong for it was well insured. Hope yours works out great for you.
