What is the proper orientation for the levers on Talley scope rings on a DGR? Is there a preferred orientation to reduce the chance of snagging the levers in a tight situation?

The proper orientation on a DG rifle, is to take the damn levers off. Put the Talley torx screws in, and you won't catch on anything. Put the little elbow tool that comes with the Talley rings in your kit for quick removal, and you are good to go. Serously.... I had the levers on mine, and they kept snagging an loosening up every time I'd go thru brush. And you can never get them tight enough. I did take them off, and replace them, and now I'm a happy camper. Jeff

The proper position is "UP" and if they are properly installed they will not loosen up, not ever.... Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com

I also agree with the post about replacing them with the torx screws. If the levers are properly tightened, you will not be able to loosen them without tearing the flesh off your fingers anyhow. When I did use a set of the Talley levers, I tightened them with a small section of wood dowel tapped with a small mallet (lightly).
