I had a LH Sako AV .375H&H for years. It was light, accurate, and handsome. They should have never discontinued them. Then, I bought my LH M-70 .375H&H. I sold the Sako. The Winchester shot as well, had (rudimentary) iron sights, handled well, and had CRF, which I prefer for DG. As Sako/Beretta does not offer/import left-hand rifles into the States, I doubt I'll ever buy one, so I cannot speak to the quality of the new rifles. George

I have the M70 in .375 HH and am looking at a Sako in .375HH. I have no preference one way or another for CRF. I owned a pre Garcia Sako in .270 many years ago, and remember the smoothness of the action. Have you hunted with the Sako .375 HH before?

Anyone compare the Sako vs. the M70 in .375HH? What are your thoughts?

I have a Sako M-75 Hunter and a Winchester M-70 Stainless in 375 H&H. The Sako is substantially more accurate, feeds extremely smoothly and has a shorter bolt lift that I like. I prefer a straight classical style stock to the Monte Carlo the Sako has and I would prefer a floorplate to a removeable magazine. The Winchester is in a McMillan G&H Stock which handles extremely well and reduces felt recoil. It is CRF and may or may not feed more reliably than the Sako. Neither have failed so much as once. My plan is to use the Winchester in Alaskan or other wet weather scenario's, and the Sako for Non-Dangerous game in Africa. If the Sako was CRF had a classic stock and a floorplate for about their current price (their Safari model in VERY expensive, 12,500 I think), I probably wouldn't have the Winchester.........DJ
