.600 JDJ???
Looking for a bit info on .600 JDJ muzzle velocities. What would be a typical MV with the 900 gr. projectile?? Also.....can anyone give me a B.C. for any 900 gr. .620" bullet. I'm curious as to the external ballistics of this round.

Thanks in advance!!

Check SSK for the straight skinny on the round.

Yeah. I was already over there looking about. But I failed to actually find numbers for the 600. Is there something I missed?

Got that. Wink

Would it be reasonalble to assume the JDJ is making in the neighborhood of 2000 fps with the 900 gr.??

O.K Part way there. I've got the B.C. of the Barnes 900 gr. solid as .380

Still looking for a ballpark velocity.

Probably more like 1950fps. Same as a .600NE. Depends alot on barrel length.-Rob

The .600 JDJ is a stillborn idea. It is an ill-fated attempt to fit .600 NE ballistics into a Ruger No. 1, which was designed for the 220 Swift and the like. Better to just get an action that is the right for the .600 NE and build a real gun. Smiler

I talked with J.D. several months ago about this cartridge. He said the 900 grain bullet got right at 1900 ft./sec for appx. 7200 ft. lbs. I believe the barrel length was 22".
