Now,

that is a real big bore. Can we have some more pictures of it !!. Would love to see a video of you shooting it. The recoil from that thing must be the most brutal recoil in the world ??

BPBB,
That an awesome looking gun. What are the ballistics of the loads you shoot and the weight of the rifle. It looks like 16 or 17 lbs. It looks real big. Must be a hoot.

A .700 BMG IMPROVED will beat the 2-bore and have a weight of only 20 ibs.

2-bore (3500 grain ball att 1350 fps)

.700 BMG IMPROVED (1200 grain bullet at 2600 fps or a 1000 grain bullet at 3000 fps)

It will not beat the 2-bore in momentum. But momentum is a bad number...!

BPBB...!

Why not try a 5000 grain slug in your 2-bore??? [Smile]

BPBB: 500gr. projectile in a 2-bore?

Wouldn't that be shaped like a nickel?

Rick.

Rick,

That's 500 grains of powder. The projectile is a half pound (3500 grain) roundball.

ROFL!!!!!

Let's see. I think that little load gives you something like 400 foot pounds of recoil.
Makes a Weatherby, or a BMG improved with a 1200 grain bullet look like a pop gun. Bullet weight,
and diameter RULE!!!
Brits learned this long ago, with cannons, and nitro expresses, on large game.

Funny, even though a 42 Pound round ball might only be going 1200 fps, do you think it did any damage when it hit something???

Overkill, get a life and a brain.

A 2 bore is way beyond the rules of ballistics, according to Roy WBY. [Roll Eyes]

Hats off to anyone that can shoot a 2 bore, and hit anything.

Only 500 grains of BP?
I have a brown bess that is of course 75 cal.
That 11ish gauge shotgun is enough for me.
Tell you what, my friend is originally from Niagra Falls NY. He goes back quite a bit. We're going to hopefully go salmon fishing before too long.
I'll come over and visit you, I want to see this beast in person.
