Let me start by saying

WHAT A GREAT HUNT!

We took 115s, 100b, 77s, 55s, and 45s. The later was on the pit saturdaynight.

The 376 steyr harvested hogs with athourity and ease!!

As for the bullet report, some surprises, some not.

.375 225gr sp Hornady. great performance
376 steyr, 115 yards, mv 2850, 100# boar. Entered left shoulder, exited at last 2 ribs, right side. Exit wound about .95", obvious wound channel, shoulder, spine, heart destroyed, went down like a sack of wheat. interesting, the shoulder was VERY bloodshot. much more than expected.

.358 200gr RN rem. THIS BULLET SUCKS at 2400 fps.
358 winnie in a blr.
135 yards,77# facing 115degree left (away) between ankle and spine, hit spine, NO EXIT WOUND. bullet fully distructed.
85yards, 115#, geronemo was running after them again, pig and G stopped, fairly steep angle shot, just in front of the hams, going forward. G was about 35degrees off the side, pig facing mostly away. 200 gr hit SKIN, BLEW UP, damaaged, did not cut, spine, pig down, and talking about it. Second shot, finisher, hit spine and exited, minimal expansion. Go figure, this was the opposite of the first.

45yards, 55#, head shot with 376. bullet exited, pig laided down and "ran" on it's side, with no brain.

85yards, 45#,
225 sierra 358 gameking, neck, 2500 fps, 358.
neck gone, exit wound about 1.5", plus "secondaries" Perfect performace in a 358, as usual.

Was a great hunt, spent lots of time in the woods, and then the campfire.

Wish you all could have been there.
Jeffe

Jeffe,
I am sure your aware that the 200 gr. Rem is a 35 Rem bullet and you stressed beyond its design functions......Knock 400 FPS off of it and it will perform admirably....

Ray,
I bought this box of bullets about 6 years ago, and midway was pawning them off for 358/350 rem mag, and saying the 180s where for the 35 rem. I gave these, and the 150s to go along with them, to a buddy about 2 years ago... and yep, they detonate, and I think they should be sold for 35 maximum pistol.

still had fun
