After the awesome deal jjs gave me on his CZ 416 Rigby(with all its upgrades), I happened on a beautiful Whitworth 375 H&H that I had to have, so I rationalized it knowing that many of you guys who are experienced African hunters seem to own/take two rifles with you...one large and one larger. I guess the only thing left is to find my way to Africa. Since I'm almost as proud as a new dad, I'll try to post pics of my new babies....Dave

I paid too much for it to ever get my money back but I fell in love with the fidleback in the wood. This pic doesn't do it justice.

Dave,

Congrats on your rifles. They make a great pair and I hope you get alot of good use out of them.

Now you can get in some serious practice time using those rifle on Hogs Smiler before scheduling a trip to Africa!

Have you decided on scopes yet?

Nice wood on both of those rifles. Way, way above average. Nothing beats a beautiful wood stock, if you ask me. Congrats! thumb

Going with a Zeiss 3x9 on the Whitworth and either a Leupold 1.5x5 or the Burris safari on the CZ.

Mitchell,
You crack me up !!

You bought the CZ from jjs which is identical to the one I am having built from CZ, and I had the back-up offer on your Whitworth. You didn't get to my wife before me too did you ????

I just bought a SAKO carbine as my back-up .375. I am hoping it will serve me in Africa and Alaska. I must admit it was my second choice to the Whitworth.

BTW,
I went with a Leu VX III in 1.5-6 on my CZ. I went Illuminated which I think is better for a few reasons, although I have heard and recognize some are against(wrongly) illumination.

LOL GDOG!! Are you the one who drove the price of that thing thru the roof? Your wife is safe but after what I had to pay for the Whitworth I might try to find her rotflmo Of coarse I'm kidding but that definately worked out well for the seller of that rifle. If you had bid up one more time you would have had it because I was at the limit I had set for myself. It sounds like you still ended up with two wonderful rifles...I hope you enjoy them as much as I love mine. Dave

GDOG,

Sounds like you have been a day late and a dollar short rotflmo

I am all out of 375s and 416s (at least that I want to sell) but I do have a couple of 416 Rigby snap caps. GDOG, since you missed out on those deals and I feel for you, PM me your address and I will send you one, no charge.

Dave, PM me your address (I did not keep it) and I will send you the other... beer

Now you will both have the same.... beer

nice rifle. what does yours weigh? I have it's big(ger) brother, a 458WM that is getting "Lott-ized". Ignore Studdog, if you sell it I should get it...allowing for a sort-of family reunion.
