G., what caliber is the rifle? I have buckets of mag boxes and would be happy to send you one. You can email me through my website or PM me with your address and it is on it's way.

G. definitely take Bitteroot up on his offer, but when you call CZ call the custom shop and ask for Jason. He was extremely helpful on my rifle.

Matt at CZ USA took my call about the plastic floor plate and follower that my new 550FS came with. He promptly and pleasantly replaced my plastic parts with steel. Other than the plastic parts to start with I couldn't be more pleased with my rifle and CZ USA.

calling is the only way to get things done in this world. Email is great between established contacts but when you need anything done, call. You get a name (see Remington 720's comment) and when they don't do anything, you call back and say, "I talked to so and so.. " etc. Keep doing that a few times until you run thoguh customer service and you will eventually get something done. It is too easy for a yutz in CS to simply delete your email or to ignore it, possibly without malice. Its harder to ignore a guy talking in your ear.

I don't know where you found this rifle, but I never have seen a plastic magazine box on one.

And what the hell does customer service have to do with anything. Call up CZ and buy a steel box if you want one - that is the parts dept. not customer service. They should in no way conceivable to me to be obliged to provide anything for free, as some have implied.

Seems a lot of times customer service is seen as free stuff.

Sorry for the rant.

Watch out for that C-clip too. Get a double-nut firing pin retainer instead of the C-clip. Big Grin

CZ has good steel parts for magazines. They slip in a plastic follower and even a plastic floorplate occasionally on the CZ 550 mediums. Don't let them get away with it and sooner or later they will stop that trash.

I don't think they ever tried a plastic magazine box though. That seems to be a misstatement if that was implied.
