Burris makes Ruger to Weaver/Picitinny bases if that helps. Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship Phil Shoemaker Alaska Master guide FAA Master pilot NRA Benefactor www.grizzlyskinsofalaska.com

I have a Docter Optic sight on mine. They make a base that fits directly on the ruger receiver. I would prefer to mount it on the rear base because the rifle balances over the front ring, but the sight interferes with the bolt handle, so the sight goes on the front ring. Go to the Aimpoint web site. They make a few models of Aimpoint sights that are designed for standard sporting rifles using 2 rings, just like a regular scope. They fit in standard scope rings and standard bases. Much more suitable for a bolt action or other standard hunting rifle, than the AR style sights. They also have some mounts for standard sporting rifles that use the Aimpoint Micro. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY
