badboymelvinTasco WC on a .458?
Hi guys,
Noticed the thread on scopes for a .458 but didn't want to hijack it so I thought I'd post my question here.
I've got a CZ550 Safari Magnum in .458WM and have fitted it with a Tasco 1.5-4.5 which I like very much - especially the recticle, it's got the crosshairs, then like a circle around the center for real quick aiming. Anyway, it looks good and aims good but will it live for long on the big .45?
It survived the sighting in period (better than I did), and I know that they have a lifetime guarantee, buts that's not going to help me if I'm in the middle of nowhere with a busted scope.
So what do you guys think, will it live?
(After reading the other thread I'm now not super confident :-()

jeffeossoThe world class or the titan? I don't know the wc. The Titan, if made in Japan is a good scope. The made in China ones, not so much

MatthewxA buddy put a 3-9 World Class on a whitworth 458 WIn. After 300ish shots a bunch of black specks appeared on one of the inside lenses but point of aim was not affected. The rifle still wears the same scope after 23 years but he hardly ever shoots it anymore. I gave him a hard time for awhile about being cheap but he couldn't see changing since it worked so well for him. That rifle was quite accurate, 1/2" was my best group with it when I developed the loads for it.

JCS271The older japanese models were not so bad. You may get lucky but I probably would not hunt DG with it. That said, the high dollar big names can also take a dump on you so you just never know! Shoot the crap out of it and see what happens. Good Luck!
P.S. Welcome to the forums.

Bren7X64Got a Tasco WC 1.75-5x20 on my 375 H&H for the past 12 years.
It's never moved, but then again the 375 doesn't kick like the 458.

bigdoggy2boreI have a 4x tacso world class on one of my 460 wetherby's. Put 150 rounds through it over the past 10 years and it has held up fine. Mostly the older factory hotter loads.
