What scope mounts are you using with the 602 and what experiences have you had with them? Thanks

Hi Mike, The new, "beefed up" double screw rings from WARNE are a good buy, nice looking and do the job. I put a good number of rounds through my BRNO - 602 in .458 Lott and had no problems with the quick-detachable mounts. Return to zero was not especially good at first but I later discovered such was due to an installation flaw of my own creation.

I agree with the previous post. Warne rings work well, look great and are attractively priced.

Howdy Mike, I got some Warne units for my 602, but they put the low-power Swarovski scope objective low enough so that it interfered with the bolt handle. I have the BRNO mounts on there now. Lately I have been buying Talley mounts. jim dodd ------------------

Jim, That's common with the CZ rifles. I've had to grind, polish and reblue any bolts with low mounted scopes.

Nickudu, I am going to use Leupold 1.5 x 5 on my 602, are you saying I will have to alter the bolt handle? I hope not I do not want any complications. Thanks Mike

Mike, In a minimal way only and perhaps not at all with the ZZK-602 action. With the CZ-550, the squared tang towards the top of the bolt handle comes all too close or actually touches the scope housing when using Warne or Leupold low-set detachable rings. A hi-speed Dremel with a composite surfacing disk will correct this. Then polish the affected area with crohcus cloth to a high shine and reblue until dark enough to match. You can hardly see the alteration. The actual position of the bolt knob remains unchanged. [This message has been edited by Nickudu (edited 01-16-2002).]

I've just switched to Warne mounts (1BLM medium height, they don't make a "low") for my Leupold 1-4x20 on a CZ 550 Magnum. I was worried about the height not being enough after reading this but when the scope was mounted I still had about 1/6 of an inch clearance between the bolt handle and the bell when operating the bolt. In other words, no problem
