What kind of velosity are you 416 rem users getting with the 300gr x bullet?
What is the best powder for this bullet weight?
Seems it would make a great long range combo with alot of stomp.

I get 2960fps out of 300X's in my 26" barreled Remmie with 1 grain under max with H4895. A friend of mine was loading the max load of Varget and getting just over 3000fps. I haven't killed anything with the X's yet as the 350gr Speers have been doing fine so far. My friend killed several deer with them though.

I don't shoot those barnes X bullets any more in my 416. They put to much copper into my barrel.

Try the triple shocks. I don't get near the fouling with them as with the X bullets and I get great accuracy too.

I shot the 300Xs years ago in my custom Sako. Go my first Elk with a 300X at 2950 fps. The load was 91 grs. Rel.15. Dropped him where he stood.(shoulder shot)
