Thanks, they used to not have the number up. I was thinking of getting on the list but truthfully I don't think that the lefties will ever come out.

Since they are cast, it should just be a matter of mirroring(sp) the action when they are making the molds. Thats easy to do on the computer.

I was going off of Jeffeosso's post (below). Besides, looking at all of the options the long action will handle the 404 Jeff that I want to build. The PH size action would be a waste.

They put me on the list for a LH action. I asked specifically about the availability of the left hand action.My e-mail reply did not get into right/left hand specifics. But it did say:

I've spoken with these guys, at length on the subject. They had been very clear. They will be making the X ahnded mold when the X handed action gets 400 orders. There is a huge amount of machine time, and therefore money, involved in making the molds at the quality level we will all demand.

I tried to with them about the basic facts, that there is curently a 3 to 1 order, and they chould make a 4 cavity mold, 3 rights and a left, and get the product moving. No dice.


So, I am still on the list, and still waiting

Jeffe, the only thing that I have a SERIOUS RESERVATION about is look at all their current BACKORDERS!!!

Just click on the different Actions' links at the bottom HERE. By the looks of it, the PH won't be coming out for OVER a year!!!

So are these actions going to be investment castings or forged and machined actions?

like all their actions, and all ruger (who's doing the casting) bolt guns, these are cast actions .. forged and machiend would cost at least 4x to be cometitive (see GMA)

Jeffe- Thanks so much. I'm thinking of building a 505Gibbs and as I understand from the forum that this would be a great action for the Gibbs project. I really like the 505 and have been thinking of converting my Rigby to a Gibbs. This would allow me to keep the Rigby as is. Kinda got a soft spot for the Rigby, too.

Montana Professional Hunter. I believe that you only have to pay HALF, when the order is up to their introductory price numbers (400 units), and then the last half upon delivery.

I have to admit I am giving serious thought to bailing out on the one I have on order. I am bothered a bit like someone else mentioned above about all of the present back orders MRC has on their other actions. I am glad to see they are apparently selling their actions well, but I am starting to wonder if the PH action really will get off the ground in 2006. Much as I hate to say it a CZ 550 is looking better all the time.
