I picked up a few of these for a good deal. I would imagine I could drive these along at a pretty good clip in my 416 Rem. Anyone have experience with these on Buffalo? or any African game? Would they work on Leopard? I looked at the website, but still don't know exactly what they where designed for. Are they more of partition type bullet that will shed it's front? thank you Gale Johnson

While I have not hunted with them I loaded them to 2825 fps in my 416 Rigby. I have heard very good things about the bullet on Buffalo in Africa as well as Australia. There are many discussions on the subject in the archives. "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."

I have shot several plains game species with them from my 416 Ruger. The largest being a blue wildebeest. All other animals were pass through but on the wildebeest we found a perfectly mushroomed bullet on the opposite side just under the skin. I believe they would work very well on cats. The PP soft nose bullet is recommended by Woodleigh as very suitable for the dangerous cats especially if range varies a bit. They apparently open a little slower than their round nose type and are recommended as an all round bullet. This information is in their catalogue which is downloadable on their website.

I used them about maybe 10 years ago, shot PG including Eland with them and I later shot an elk with them...They worked just fine at almost 2800 FPS...I don't know why I quite using them, so many bullets, so little time I guess. They make the 416 as flat shooting as most guns, As I recall they shot as flat as my 30-06 and my 300s it seemed...I quickly learned to hold on hair as I was over shooting a lot...I also have used the 350 gr. bullets, I think they were early Barnes X and they worked on Buffalo real well, and of course they worked on PG, bullets that big usually do..Ross Seyfried talked me into trying them..Both bullets performed very well indeed.
