458 win mag in Lott chamber
Can I query the collective wisdom. I am looking for a 458. I may end up with a Lott but wonder if anyone has extensive experience running a 458 win mag through the Lott chamber. I am looking for less expensive factory ammo and lower recoil. I feel like the win mag will be sufficient power using modern powders and bullets.
I understand I can reload the Lott to lower pressures which I will likely do.

Sort of like shooting .45-70 ammo in my 1886 .45-90.

If you handload, the .458/300 Win is an option.
