I recently shot a friend's amputated 45-70. His recoil pad did a good job -- almost. I would trigger the shot. The rifle would go "bang." And the rifle would bounce off my shoulder, slowing any possible subsequent shot. Recoil against my shoulder was not unpleasant. But the pad failed to keep rifle and shoulder together. In the universe of recoil pads, which offer a slow recovery? What I mean is which ones function more like automobile shock absorbers to control movement when absorbing recoil movement and while returning to original condition? I have not had an opportunity to ask which recoil pad he has installed. It's so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and then don't say it. Sam Levinson

I would try a Limbsaver, they are a softer material and have air pockets built into them. It acts like a shock absorber. Ben

You need to hold the rifle tighter to your shoulder, and firmly with both hands. The perceived recoil will be less, you will shoot more accurately, and it will not be bouncing off your shoulder ... or get a hydraulic and mechanical spring shock absorber contraption to go clankety clank with each shot ... robostock.

+1 on both bulbwerks and RIP! John There are those that do, those that dream, and those that only read about it and then post their "expertise" on AR!
